Donald G. Martin graduated from the Blind River District
High School in 1961, and went on to Waterloo University College, where he received
his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1965. In 1966 he received his Bachelor of Education
at the Ontario College of Education, University of Toronto. A Master of Education
degree was completed from the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education, University
of Toronto in 1980.
Mr. Martin's first teaching job was at Northern Secondary School, Toronto Board
of Education, from 1966 to 1968. He then came home to teach at Blind River District
High School, now W.C. Eaket Secondary School, in 1968. He was the Business Education
Director from 1968 to 1974 , then served as Vice-Principal from 1974 to 1992,
and became the Principal of W.C. Eaket Secondary School in 1992.
Over the years Mr. Martin has served as Staff Advisor for the Inter-School Christian
Fellowship Group, and the Students' Council.
In 1994 he was honoured by the Toronto Sun at SkyDome when he was presented
with a Teacher of the Year Award.
